All blog entries will be posted at the end of this intro.
During the month of September, Journeywoman will be the embedded blogger (like a writer in residence) on the ship the MV Explorer. I will be one of the participants in a program called, Semester At Sea where I will join 750 other students and professors as they circumnavigate the globe. The journey begins from the port of Montreal, Canada and visits 14 ports on its journey. Throughout the voyage students will be studying as they would in any university except that their credits will be tied in with projects they undertake in ports along the way.
This semester is not limited to university students. Each voyage holds a full contingent of Life Long Learners, anybody from 25-85 who is not on the voyage to earn academic credits. They are there to take part in the program, join classes, study or not, read, relax in the sun and create their own daily timetable. I will align myself with this group (some are Journeywoman readers) and through a series of weekly blog posts and photo albums, tweets and our Journeywoman Facebook page, I will keep you posted on what's happening on board. Trust me, there will always be a lot happening! And, of course I'll take you with me on shopping excursions and on port stops and give you the low down when I get back on the ship.
I welcome your comments and questions throughout my 30 days on board with stops in Morocco, Ghana and South Africa.
P.S. If you live in Casablance, Marrakesh, Tema or Cape Town and would like to show me your part of the world, please write to: firstname.lastname@example.org. If my schedule allows I'd love that.
P.P.S. If you would like to read my 2008 Semester At Sea journal when I circumnavigated the globe in 108 days, click here: http://www.journeywoman.com/SASBlog.htm
