Massage
for mommies-to-be...
Journeywoman enjoyed learning about the Willow
Stream Spa's massage for "almost mommies."
Using a table built specifically for the body of an expectant
mother, this pampering experience is designed with the safety
of mother and child in mind.
The Golden Door Spa at
The Boulders offers s a full program for "mothers-to-be."
To their prenatal massage, they add a Tranquillity Facial
as well as a cooling pedicure to assist with circulation in
mama's legs. Overall pampering is completed with a manicure
and rejuvenating hairstyling.

Saturday
Double Features... Four
Seasons Resort in Scottsdale is thinking about their
young guests. "Each Saturday evening, beginning at 5 p.m.,
the resort showcases two kid-friendly movies back-to-back. Supervised
by Kids for All Seasons attendants, children watch their favorite
big screen stars while parents enjoy their own fun with peace
of mind." |

Special
spa smoothies...
Each day the spa chef at Camel Back
Inn concocts a vitamin-packed calorie-conscious health
drink designed to fuel the body. When Journeywoman visited their
restaurant, an aloe vera, blackberry juice and acidophilus smoothie
was featured. It was surprisingly good -- I ordered a second
one after my workout. |

Women-to-the-fore...
Good to hear about this! At the Boulders' rugged 36-hole golf
course, women can extend their leisure activities by signing
on to the "Women-to-the-fore" plan . According to
the resort's press material, "their one-of-a-kind program
is designed to help new women golfers learn the game and to
ease the intimidation newcomers often feel on the golf course."

Super
swimming pools...
It's hard to believe but The Phoenician
in Scottsdale has nine separate swimming pools. Journeywoman
is impressed with the main oval pool tiled in Mother-of-Pearl;
there's also an edgeless pool, children's wading pools and a
huge 165-foot water slide. A perfect way to for you and kiddies
to cool off when the Sonoran desert sun just gets too hot! |

Bringing spa music into your
livingroom...
Journeywoman
asked massage therapists in the Sonoran Desert area to suggest
their favorite stress-reducing music. When the going gets tough,
here are some compact disc titles you might want for your own
living rooms...
Piano Sketches (William Linton)
Voices of the Gong (Marilyn Donadt) available through www.justimaginemusic.com
Music for Airports (Brian Eno)
Music for the Healing Arts (Dean Evanson)
Tao of Peace (Dean Evanson)
