One
of my most memorable journeys this past year was to board the
MV Explorer for an Enrichment
Voyage from San Diego, USA to Central America, through the
Panama Canal and ending in the port of Miami 20 days later. It
was an extraordinary experience; I met wonderful females along
the way, chatted with them (sometimes in sign language), and had
the opportunity to photograph their lovely faces to share with
our Journeywoman Network. Like all other women around the world
they primped before their photo was taken and it was for me, a
joy to be part of the interaction.
We
stopped in Guatemala, Nicaragua, Mexico. Costa Rica, Panama, Honduras
and Belize and most of my shots were taken there. However, I did
photograph some of my fellow passengers and crew members on board
the ship, too.
P.S.
Nobel Prize Winner Desmond Tutu and his whole family were aboard
and they mingled freely with the passengers. The first photo on
the page is of his young granddaughter who was 'a little firecracker'
and wise beyond her years. Happy International Women's Day, everybody.
