For three weeks
in July 2010 I made my way through parts of Scandinavia, The Netherlands,
Estonia and Russia. Of course I wasn't the only photo-taking traveler
on the road. All the folks around me each had their own camera to
play with. And they were all doing unique versions of exactly the
same thing I was doing. Pointing that camera, adjusting and shooting.
I became intrigued.
These photo takers, their distinct shooting styles, and their body
language became the subjects for my photography. This is what I
saw...

The classic squat
and shoot...

With
no one to take a photo of her, the solo photographer shoots
into a reflecting surface so she appears in her own photo...

The same church,
two different ages and two very different points of view...
|

Everyone
else is shooting the gorgeous fountains but this photographer
was intent on shooting the plain green lawn in front of
her. Go figure...

At
the Hermitage in Russia, this traveller was looking at all
the great masterpieces through the lens of a movie camera.
Pity...
